1.What is EcoDermDB?
EcoDermDB(Ecological Dermatology Database)is a multidimensional knowledge platform dedicated to the human skin
microbiome.If focuses on the ecological phenotypes of common skin microbes and integrates structured data on
skin diseases,the therapeutic drugs,and eosmetic active ingredients.This platform aims to bridge the gap between
microbial genotypes and functional behaviors in the skin ecosystem,supporting microecological modulation and
personalized dermatological applications.
2.What Does EcoDermDB Include
Microbial EcoID Module
Encapsulates each microbe's ecological identity card,including cell morphology,metabolic activities,nutrient
preferences,and environmental tolerances(e.g.,temperture,pH,salinity,oxygen),reflecting how microbes function
and survive in skin enviroments.
Skin Disease-Drug-Target Network
A standardized and structured collection of treatment regimens for common skin conditions, linking
diseases to drugs and molecular targets, and enabling exploration of potential microbiome-related effects
of medications.
Cosmetic Ingredient-Efficacy-Target Module
Organizes commonly used skincare ingredients and their biological targets, creating a preliminary map of
how cosmetic actives may influence skin phenotypes or microbiota indirectly.
Knowledge Graph
Visualization Offers an interactive, graph-based interface that allows users to
explore
relationships by
microbe, disease, or ingredient, facilitating hypothesis generation and mechanism discovery.
At present, our database only displays the metabolic knowledge graph centered on microorganisms. Next, we will add microbial phenotype information, drug and ingredient information, and cosmetic and efficacy information to the knowledge graph.
Finally, based on multidimensional graph information, knowledge inference and the construction of a question answering application using a large model and local knowledge base are completed.
